Man, there is so much going through my head...if I don't start getting some of it out....I'm gonna forget it!!!

We are planning a crop for January 23rd and January 24th......Have pictures? Come crop!  Friday you can come in anytime and Amy Steenwyk will be there until Midnight..... Saturday the crop will resume AFTER Katie's class. Cost $15

Saturday, January 24th at 10:00am, Katie is teaching a "Use your Stash" class.  cost $10

You will leave with 3 layouts and 2 cards all using your own stuff! AND you will learn 6 new techniques? Sounds like something we all need to do....USE WHAT WE HAVE! Hang on, am I promoting not making purchases in the store? hehe

Maybe this will entice you....if you just need that one piece of paper....from now on........this might need a drum rolll.....anyone?

All Crop and Class attendees will get 10% off all purchases for that day!

and not just in January.....ALL YEAR!!!!!!

Can I get a woo hoo?

Have you seen how Elizabeth Bailey and Amy Nabors take pictures? Gorgeous, right? They are going to teach classes at the store!!! We are working on the curriculum and hopefully, there will be at least one class each month! We all need to polish those photoHave you seen how Elizabeth Bailey and Amy Nabors take pictures? Gorgeous, rg skills, right? I'll let you know more details, as soon as I do!

So many other things are floating in this head of mine....I think they are making me sea sick....seriously, I feel like I could need to put two feet on the ground and stare straight ahead...or eat some saltines.....NO, I know what you are thinking and there is no way....NOT PG - I promise!! Just something crazy with my head.....haha....quit laughing now....

Back to those ideas...You know how I like to paint? I opened a canvas today and painted some flowers and a vase on it...then took scrapbook paper and made flowers to put on top...I left it at the store to dry. If it's cute...I may teach you how! Anyone interested? Maybe even put your "2009 WORD" on it and it can be a cute reminder all year!! We'll see.  Like I said.....floating ideas!

Ok, I think that is all for now. I have to get in bed early tonight..I'm struggling to get up each morning!!! Peace

The Design Team girls are hosting fun challenges for the next two months.  Come on over to the message board and check it out.  We are making a resolution to help you with your scrapbooking.  Challenges always help us out if we get stuck in a rut.  This time of year, that's easy to do.  We just spent lots of our creative juices on decorations, making fun gifts and surviving the holiday chaos, right?  So - join us as we RESOLVE to start the New Year on a good creative vibe!!

Each Sunday we'll post a Challenge for you.  You'll have all week to play along and share your creation.  The following Sunday, your hostess will announce their winner and a new challenge will be posted.

Since the New Year starts today - we've already got a challenge up.  So go check it out!!  You've got until NEXT Sunday to finish this one up - I'm giving you some extra time since it's the first challenge.  Keep your eye on the message boards for more information about each challenge, to check out everyone's submission and have FUN!!

Katie is going to be teaching a Use Your Scraps/Stash Class at Scrap Etc. next month.  If you are like most scrappers, you have a TON of supplies just sitting in your stash that are waiting to be used.  You probably have a ton of scraps (because you know-  never throw anything away - waste not want not).  This class will show you how to get more out of the supplies you already have and the ones you have yet to buy!  Katie will teach six different techniques on how to use  your scraps and you will leave with three 12x12 layouts and 2 cards.  We will put sneak peeks of the projects on the store blog and on her blog in the next few days.  We hope you will join Katie!

Here is the info for the Use your Scraps/Stash class in January.

Saturday, January 24th at 10am to 12 noon - Cost $10
The participants will leave with 3, 1-page, 12x12 layouts and 2 cards.  Katie will teach 6 different techniques to use your scraps on layouts and cards.

Supplies Needed:
- Various sizes of scraps (anything from patterned paper and cardstock to ephemera).  Not too many that you have trouble deciding what to use, but not so few that you feel like you don't have any options.
- A pack of 1" to 2" neutral colored letter stickers (like American Crafts Thickers or Heidi Swapp Chipboard letters, etc.).
- 1 piece of 12x12 patterned paper from your stash that you love but either can't bring yourself to use or can't figure out how to use in a project.
- Ink Pad (Staz On and Versamark if you have it)
- Scissors
- Black Ink Pen
- Pencil
- Exacto Knife
- Paper Piercer (if you have one)

Just email me at Katie@scrapetc.com if you have any questions.  You can also email Katie or call the store to register!

Hope to see you there!!!

We also found out there will be 2 more kids next year! Can you do the math? This will give Momba and Papa 15 GREAT grandkids......can you believe that? AND there are at least 4 cousins who aren't quite old enough to have kids! So, there is no telling how many there will be in the coming years! I know if you are like me - you still have a few things to check off the list.  Either presents you have to wrap, gift cards you forgot to purchase, presents to wrap, things to bake, and oh - presents to wrap.  Well, I usually forget a few people each year - like I'm not sure I'll see them to swap a gift, or maybe I forgot what they wanted and haven't made it back to the mall to get that perfect gift.  Well, my last minute go to gift is usually a gift card.  It's easy, let's face it - we all love to get gift cards, but don't always like to give them.  So, we can make it a little prettier by sliding that little gift card into this super cute gift card holder.  It's been featured on the Creative Cafe blog previously but I decided to make it more Christmasy and use it this time of year.  It's also a great little gift card holder for any other time of year - just change the colors a bit (think about pink and blue - how cute) and you've got a great gift card holder for any time.  You can make these up in just a few minutes and have them on hand for any gift card - any time!!

Hopefully, your tree is up and trimmed by now.  Hopefully, you took some pictures of the whole trimming of the tree.  Hopefully, you'll come by and see Mandy on Saturday and make this cute little mini album.  It'll be completed quickly and ready for you to just pop in your pictures of the tree, maybe picking it out and cutting it down, or hanging the decorations, even putting the presents underneath!!  So stop by Saturday around 12 and hang out with Mandy!  You can see more pictures here:  Our Creative Cafe Blog
